Senior Management Team

RICHARD LAW

Managing Director

Richard qualified as a solicitor in 2010 following the completion of a bespoke training contract with international law firm Halliwells LLP. Following the completion of his training contract, Richard joined another international law firm, Hill Dickinson LLP, specialising as a litigator in counter fraud. In 2014, Richard then successfully founded and ran his own business for five years before selling the company and joining BMD Law Limited, where he specialised in financial mis-selling litigation. During his career, Richard has acted on behalf of high profile clients such as Triumph Motorcycles, AXA Insurance, the British Medical Association, Leicester City FC, Next plc and Europcar.

Richard is entrepreneurial and extremely client focused, establishing incredibly strong and long-term relationships based on trust and success.

JULIE ADAMS

Director of Legal Operations

Julie is an extremely successful and motivated Director of Legal Operations with a wealth of litigation experience, having occupied executive positions in a number of highly reputable, market leading law firms.

She has extensive experience of handling large, litigated caseloads (including small, fast and multi-track claims) of various complexity and value, utilising her excellent technical and operational knowledge to provide the highest level of customer service and advice to her clients.

She is extremely passionate about securing justice for the under-dog and loves what she does for a living!

DAVID WOODING

Head of Housing Disrepair

After being called to the Bar in 2003, David cross qualified as a Solicitor in 2008.  Throughout David’s career, he has always fought for individuals who have been the victim of injustice.

David now acts solely for tenants who are living in poor conditions, fighting their cases robustly and with tenacity, to ensure that the optimum outcome is achieved to bring the client’s property to an acceptable living condition and also to compensate for the distress and inconvenience.

David runs cases with passion and determination and is happy to run cases to trial, ensuring the best outcome is achieved for his clients.

David joined the firm in January 2023 and in July 2023 became Head of the Housing Disrepair team, offering advice and assistance to other members of the team and ensuring the best client care is achieved for Liberay’s clients.

PHIL SCOTT

Training Principal & Team Leader

Phil is a Grade A Solicitor and Member of the Law Society with over 20 years post qualification experience. Phil has a wealth of experience as a Housing Disrepair litigator and manager/supervisor and takes great pride in helping his clients and colleagues in equal measure.

AMY DUXBURY

Compliance Advisor & Team Leader

Since qualifying in 2016, Amy has been a dedicated solicitor with extensive experience in personal injury and housing disrepair claims. She is passionate about achieving the best results for her clients, demonstrating exceptional negotiation skills and meticulous attention to detail in every case.

Amy is known for providing clear, practical advice, making complex legal matters understandable, and ensuring her clients always feel supported. Her commitment to justice and client satisfaction has earned her a reputation as a trusted and effective legal representative.

As a team leader, Amy excels in guiding, coaching and motivating her colleagues, sharing her expertise and experience to enhance the whole team’s performance.

Outside of work, Amy is a proud wife, mum to one boy and ball thrower for her big soft dog, Boomer. She enjoys crocheting intricate and fun designs, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and visiting theme parks around the world. Her love for these hobbies brings a well-rounded balance to her busy professional life.

RUHEEN MOHMED

Head of First Response

Ruheen is a soon to be qualified solicitor and an enthusiastic leader of the housing disrepair first response team. She possesses extensive client service experience and prides herself on ensuring all clients are cared for. She is a highly determined and empathetic individual who is keen to provide help to those in need of help. Ruheen is highly ambitious and is looking forward to forging an excellent reputation in the litigation sphere.

SAMANTHA MELLOR

Management Accountant

Sam is warm, kind hearted Management Accountant with incredible experience in the financial sector. As Management Accountant, she develops and maintains Liberay’s financial management procedures and processes to ensure that they are effective, efficient and compliant with the appropriate financial statutory and regulatory requirements.

Sam is also responsible for the preparation, analysis and reporting of management accounting information to the senior leadership team in a timely, accurate and relevant format, providing advice and insight into our performance so we can make well informed, viable strategic decisions.

KATE WILLIAMS

Team Leader

Kate graduated from Edge Hill in 2019 University with a 2:1 LLB Law degree. She has extensive litigation experience within housing disrepair, having previously worked at Emerald Law Solicitors and Bond Turner Solicitors. She is passionate about the housing disrepair sector and is extremely proud of her work, having helped hundreds of vulnerable clients secure a better life of themselves and their families.  She is unbelievably dedicated with a very enviable case success rate! Kate joined Liberay Legal in November 2023 as a Litigation Executive. In May 2024, having demonstrated her credentials, was promoted to Team Leader. She loves her new role, particularly supporting and advising her team members.  Outside of work Kate is a busy Mum of 2 and enjoys spending quality time with her children, family and friends.

KERRY THOMPSON

Team Leader

Kerry started her legal career over 23 years ago in 2000 and has a wealth of experience as a Litigation Executive, having previously worked within several large, well-known law firms. She has specialised in the following areas over the past two decades: general civil litigation, Road Traffic Accident (fast track & Multi Track claims) Personal Injury, Housing Disrepair, Holiday Claims and Tenancy Deposit Claims.

Kerry loves working in the Housing Disrepair team as she is passionate about helping clients who are vulnerable and need assistance to improve their quality of life.  She is very client focused and wants to do her very best for them by securing suitable living conditions and the compensation that they deserve.

JAMIE KELLY

Team Leader

Result driven, highly skilled and experienced Senior Litigation Executive with 7 years of diverse experience in the legal profession. Adept at managing complex cases, conducting legal research, and providing strategic advice to clients. Proven track record of success in representing clients in a variety of civil litigation disputes. Proficient at guiding clients through the legal process from outset to closure of case whilst maintaining the highest levels of professionalism.

LAURA JONES

Chartered Legal Executive

With over 15 years’ experience in civil litigation, Laura is a Chartered Legal Executive with a wealth of experience including working for several market-leading insurers and dealing with work from both a Claimant and Defendant perspective in the motor sector including personal injury, complex credit hire and counter fraud.  Laura has extensive technical and procedural expertise and a strong commitment to achieving the best results for her clients.  She is a strong communicator with a passion for achieving justice for her clients in the housing disrepair sector and ensuring that they are supported every step of the way.

GLEICE DE FREITAS

Litigation Executive

Prior to joining Liberay Legal, Gleice obtained extensive litigation experience at a regional law firm within their family & divorce, road traffic accident and housing disrepair departments. She has over 3 years legal experience and is currently handling her own caseload of housing disrepair cases. During her free time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

PREVILEDGE NKABINDE

Litigation Executive

Previledge graduated with a Masters of Law degree and immediately joined national law firm DWF LLP. At DWF, Previledge acted on behalf of numerous high profile insurer clients in the areas of personal injury and road traffic accidents. In early 2023, Previledge joined Liberay Legal’s housing disrepair team, utilising her extensive litigation knowledge to enhance and consolidate the team.  She enjoys cooking, travelling and meeting new people.

AILEEN WOOD

Litigation Executive

Aileen began her legal career in 2012 and has developed years of experience in Group Litigation, Professional Negligence and Housing Disrepair. Aileen became a Litigation Executive in 2019 specialising in Housing Disrepair. She is empathetic and determined to achieve the best outcome for her clients.

MOHAMMED ALI

Litigation Executive

Mohammed is a litigation executive who is passionate about helping clients improve their quality of life. Prior to joining Liberay Legal, Mohammed had been working in the personal injury field for the past 5 years with over a years’ experience in Housing disrepair for regional law firms.  Mohammed’s strong work ethic, dedication and passion for each client is unrivalled.

ANNIE BATES

Solicitor

Annie is a newly qualified Solicitor with a passion for helping people. Over the last eight years, Annie gained experience in Personal Injury and Financial Mis-selling. Annie is a hardworking and determined individual with over ten years of experience in customer service and a degree in psychology.

During her free time she enjoys reading, running and supporting her local football team.

NATALIE TOMLINSON

Solicitor

Natalie qualified as a Solicitor in 2013 following the completion of her Legal Practice Course and training contract.

Natalie has a wealth of litigation experience, having specialised  in the following areas: General Civil Litigation, Road Traffic Accident (Fast Track & Multi Track claims) personal injury, Tenancy Deposit claims and Housing Disrepair.

Natalie joined Liberay in 2024 and now acts solely for Tenants who are living in poor conditions. She loves fighting for individuals who have been the victim of injustice and will do so for the rest of her career!

LINDSAY SUTTILL

Litigation Executive

After completing her degree, Lindsay travelled around the world and worked for a short while in New Zealand before returning to the UK. She has spent the past 8 years successfully running her own independent bridal boutique and has gained invaluable experience in business, finance and accounting. Lindsay is hard working, conscientious and strives to provide the highest level of care for all her clients. She is highly focused and is looking forward to advancing in her career with Liberay Legal.

SAIF HUSSAIN

Saif is a dedicated Litigation Executive and soon to be qualified Solicitor with extensive experience in Civil and Commercial Litigation. With a proven track record in handling complex cases, Saif brings a meticulous and strategic approach to each case, ensuring thorough preparation and effective resolution. He is committed to providing exceptional client service, leveraging his deep knowledge of litigation procedures and case law to achieve favourable outcomes.

HELEN HITCHCOCK

Litigation Executive

Helen has over 15 years’ experience in civil litigation including personal injury and industrial disease and came to Liberay Law from Carpenters Solicitors.  Helen has experience working for both Claimant and Defendant firms.  Helen is committed to achieving the best results for her client’s.

HAJRA SIDIQUE

Solicitor

Hajra is an experienced, motivated and determined litigation solicitor. She is an attentive listener with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. She is also organised and compassionate, as well as possessing outstanding communication skills.

SHOHAIB YOUNIS

Solicitor & Head of Costs

Shohaib has a wealth of experience in all aspects of legal costs with over 10 years’ experience in the industry, also having qualified as a Solicitor in 2017. From then on, he gone on to work for an array of law firms from small independent firms to reputable national firms such as Stephensons and Slater & Gordon with his expertise in costs growing before his journey brought him to Liberay Legal. Having previously worked for both receiving parties and paying parties thus he is able to assess legal costs objectively. Over the years, Shohaib has honed his costs knowledge and has attended detailed assessment hearings, costs management hearings and fixed costs hearings, highlighting his proficiency in this niche area.

Shohaib handles the legal costs for Liberay Legal, dealing with all the costs from the outset in terms of preparing the Bills to negotiations and settlement. He is meticulous with regards to client care and utilises his extensive experience to achieve to the best result for the firm. Outside of work, he likes travelling, playing football and spending time with his family.

CARLA UDALL

Litigation Executive

Carla has worked in the legal sector for almost 20 years at several highly reputable law firms, covering a wide range of practice areas including family law, private client, civil litigation, medical negligence, personal injury and housing disrepair. Carla offers exceptional client care and has a strong determination to succeed in everything she does.

In her free time, Carla enjoys travelling and yoga.”

CHRIS STEELE

Solicitor

Chris qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and has over 15 years’ experience in the legal profession working at firms such as Keoghs, DAC Beachcroft and Clyde & Co.

Chris has experience of handling large litigated caseloads of various values and complexity and handling cases from start to finish.  Chris has experience in representing large insurance companies such as Zurich, RSA and AXA insurance over a number of years and has gathered experience of a client focused approach to resolving disputes.

Chris is now using his experience and determination to help clients experiencing housing disrepair issues.

HALA GABRA

Solicitor

Hala qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and has a wealth of experience in Civil and Commercial Litigation, particularly in Personal Injury and Financial Mis-Selling. With a proven track record of managing a high volume of caseloads, including fast tracks and small claims, Hala consistently delivers outstanding results for clients.

Fluent in both Arabic and English, Hala has successfully assisted hundreds of clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they achieve justice while providing excellent customer service. Hala’s strong academic background in legal professions further underscores her expertise and commitment to the field.

HUMEERA MATLIWALA

Solicitor

Humeera graduated with a Masters of Law degree in 2016. Following her graduation Humeera secured a training contract with a law firm specialising in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence.

Humeera successfully completed her training contract and was admitted as a Solicitor in 2019. Humeera is now working as a Housing Disrepair Solicitor and is extremely passionate about securing justice for her clients.

Outside of work, Humeera enjoys travelling and exploring different cultures.

SIAMA PARVEEN

Solicitor

Siama qualified as a solicitor in 2014 and has a wealth of experience in litigation dealing with claimant work in the motor sector. In early 2024, Siama joined Liberay Legal’s housing disrepair  team, utilising her litigation knowledge to  provide the highest level of customer service. Siama,  enjoys working in the housing disrepair team  as she is passionate about helping clients who are vulnerable and need assistance to improve their quality of life  by ensuring the client’s property  is in an acceptable living condition and also receive the compensation they truly  deserve.

Carys regularly competes in high level horse shows and dressage competitions in her free time.

First Response Assistant

Deborah was raised in Italy before relocating to the UK at the age of sixteen. After earning her LPC and Master’s in Business, she intends to shift into litigation and is aiming to become a corporate solicitor. Deborah is proud to make sure that every client receives outstanding care. She is an extremely driven, sympathetic individual who is willing to help those in need. Deborah is eager to establish a superb reputation in the legal industry.

Caitlin is a dedicated member of our first response team. Caitlin has a degree in law and is intending to qualify as a solicitor in the near future. She is taking her SQE in the next year. Caitlin is trained to work with both our Housing Disrepair and Tenancy Deposit Claim clients. She is passionate about helping clients and ensuring we deliver outstanding customer service.  In her spare time, Caitlin enjoys spending time with her friends and caring for her animals.

Will is a dedicated, dependable and organised member of the First Response Team. He is an aspiring lawyer who has a keen interest in sports law.

Will is committed to delivering exceptional support to our clients and the wider legal team, with a strong emphasis on effective communication and attention to detail. He is passionate about making a meaningful impact through his work and loves being a part of our First Response Team.

Outside of work Will is keen footballer having played for various academies across the north west since the age of 5. He currently plays football at his beloved Warrington Town FC!
