Richard qualified as a solicitor in 2010 following the completion of a bespoke training contract with international law firm Halliwells LLP. Following the completion of his training contract, Richard joined another international law firm, Hill Dickinson LLP, specialising as a litigator in counter fraud.

In 2014, Richard then successfully founded and ran his own business for five years before selling the company and joining BMD Law Limited, where he specialised in financial mis-selling litigation.

During his career, Richard has acted on behalf of high profile clients such as Triumph Motorcycles, AXA Insurance, the British Medical Association, Leicester City FC, Next plc and Europcar.

Richard is entrepreneurial and extremely client focused, establishing incredibly strong and long-term relationships based on trust and success.

Julie is an extremely successful and motivated Director of Legal Operations with a wealth of litigation experience, having occupied executive positions in a number of highly reputable, market leading law firms.

She has extensive experience of handling large, litigated caseloads (including small, fast and multi-track claims) of various complexity and value, utilising her excellent technical and operational knowledge to provide the highest level of customer service and advice to her clients.

She is extremely passionate about securing justice for the under-dog and loves what she does for a living!

Phil is a Grade A Solicitor and Member of the Law Society with over 20 years post qualification experience.

Phil has a wealth of experience as a Housing Disrepair litigator and manager/supervisor and takes great pride in helping his clients and colleagues in equal measure.

Carlos is a highly specialist clinical negligence solicitor with over 30 years’ experience in clinical negligence work. Having acted for thousands of clients since qualification in 1995, dealing with a wide variety of cases, including spinal injuries, cancer errors, brain injury and amputation cases.

Carlos is particularly proud of his experience in representing children and their families who have been affected by birth injury. These cases are maximum severity and Carlos has extensive experience in supporting families and securing multi million pound settlements.

As well as being a member of the Law Society’s Clinical negligence accreditation scheme, he is also an assessor for the scheme, which recognises his specialist expertise in clinical negligence work.

Natalie qualified as a Solicitor in 2013 following the completion of her Legal Practice Course and training contract.

Natalie has a wealth of litigation experience, having specialised  in the following areas: General Civil Litigation, Road Traffic Accident (Fast Track & Multi Track claims) personal injury, Tenancy Deposit claims and Housing Disrepair.

Natalie joined Liberay in 2024 and now acts solely for Tenants who are living in poor conditions. She loves fighting for individuals who have been the victim of injustice and will do so for the rest of her career!

Hajra is an experienced, motivated and determined litigation solicitor.

She is an attentive listener with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

She is also organised and compassionate, as well as possessing outstanding communication skills.

Craig has been working in the legal industry for over 15 years and has a wealth of experience in Civil Litigation. Craig joined Liberay Legal in May 2025, having been the Team Manager of the Housing Disrepair department at his previous firm for over 4 years.

Craig prides himself on attention to detail and brings a level of dedication and tactical know-how to get his clients the outcome they deserve.

James has more than 10 years of civil litigation experience, acting for clients across numerous legal areas.

James’ current sole focus is Housing Disrepair in which he has more than 6 years’ experience.

James’s priority is to represent his clients with the highest level of support whilst providing clear guidance and ensuring all claims are dealt within the client’s best interests.

Aileen began her legal career in 2012 and has developed years of experience in Group Litigation, Professional Negligence and Housing Disrepair.

Aileen became a Litigation Executive in 2019 specialising in Housing Disrepair.

She is empathetic and determined to achieve the best outcome for her clients.

Helen has over 15 years’ experience in civil litigation including personal injury and industrial disease and came to Liberay Law from Carpenters Solicitors.

Helen has experience working for both Claimant and Defendant firms.  Helen is committed to achieving the best results for her client’s.

Alex has more than 8 years of civil litigation experience, acting for clients across numerous legal areas, however his current focus is Housing Disrepair.

Alex’s priority is to represent his clients with the highest level of support and detail giving clarity and guidance with a professional approach. He also thrives on ensuring all claims are dealt within the client’s best interests to reach the outcome they deserve.

Jo-ann has 20 years’ experience in personal injury, private nuisance and commercial work.

Jo-ann is dedicated to her clients, aiming to give a professional and hasal free experience.

Jo-ann’s aim is to provide exceptional client service, she has extensive experience in Civil and commercial litigation with a proven track record in handling complex cases. Her cases range from small claim, fast track, multi-track and has gone as far as the Court of Appeal.

In her free time Jo-ann enjoys the gym, and socialising with friends.

James started working in Housing Disrepair in 2018 following completion of his LLB Law degree.

James has over 6 years’ experience working as a Housing Disrepair Fee Earner.

James is organised and has a passion for helping tenant’s living in poor housing conditions.

Outside of work, James loves going to watch his beloved Oldham Athletic, attending gigs with friends and spending time with his daughter.

Carys is a bright, tenacious and determined litigation paralegal with a background in public services. She has meticulous attention to detail and an incredible ‘can do’ attitude.

She is excited by a long-term career in law and loves being part of our housing disrepair team. She is aiming for the top of the profession!

Carys regularly competes in high level horse shows and dressage competitions in her free time.

Allaya has been working in the legal sector since 2014 and has developed substantial experience throughout her career. Since 2018, she has specialised in housing law, with a particular focus on housing disrepair matters, supporting clients in navigating complex claims and ensuring their rights are upheld.

Allaya adopts a client-focused approach to her work, combining strong legal knowledge with a practical understanding of the impact that poor housing conditions can have on individuals and families. She is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients, providing clear advice, attention to detail, and consistent support

James is a dedicated litigation executive with extensive experience in Housing Disrepair and Financial Mis-Selling.

James has a passion for helping tenant’s in poor housing conditions, and achieving a just resolution to their matter.

James is currently studying to become a Solicitor through the SQE pathway, along with attaining a masters in legal practice.

Outside of work, James is a lifelong season ticket holder at Preston North End, an avid mountain-biker and loves to collect vinyl records, attending as many gigs/concerts as possible.

Shahzadi is an experienced Housing Disrepair Case Handler with over 9 years’ experience in housing disrepair claims.

Her priority is to represent clients with the highest level of support, providing clear guidance and ensuring all claims are handled in the client’s best interests.

She provides exceptional client care and is highly driven to succeed, while remaining professional and approachable throughout.

After completing her degree, Lindsay travelled around the world and worked for a short while in New Zealand before returning to the UK.

She has spent the past 8 years successfully running her own independent bridal boutique and has gained invaluable experience in business, finance and accounting.

Lindsay is hard working, conscientious and strives to provide the highest level of care for all her clients. She is highly focused and is looking forward to advancing in her career with Liberay Legal.

Will is a dedicated, dependable and organised member of the Breach department.

He is an aspiring lawyer who has a keen interest in sports law.

Will is committed to delivering exceptional support to our clients and the wider legal team, with a strong emphasis on effective communication and attention to detail.

Outside of work Will is keen footballer having played for various academies across the north west since the age of 5. He currently plays football at his beloved Warrington Town FC!

Leon is a Trainee Costs Lawyer with sights of completing his training and becoming a qualified Costs Lawer in the near future.

Leon has a wealth of experience as a Costs Draftsman, specialising in, Housing Disrepair, Personal Injury, Credit Hire and Enforcement Claims. Leon has worked at national firms such as Winns Solicitors and Gowing Law Solicitors.

Leon prides himself on his attention to detail, his professionalism and knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.

Lauryn began working in Housing Disrepair in 2023 as a Cost Draftsman, her main role is the preparation of Bils of Costs and Statements of Cost. Lauryn prides herself on attention to detail ensuring accurate cost recovery, working closely alongside solicitors to support the litigation and negotiation process.

Lauryn is confident in managing deadlines, handling multiple files efficiently and applying a precise, methodical approach to cost drafting.

Outside of work Lauryn practises yoga to maintain balance and wellbeing as well as a love for reading non-fiction.

Michelle is highly experienced within the legal administration sector. Michelle is efficient, hardworking and strives to ensure the smooth running of the administration responsibilities within the firm.

Since commencing her role at Liberay Michelle hasn’t looked back and is thoroughly enjoying her time at Liberay and the office environment.

Michelle enjoys the outdoors and likes going on hikes in her free time.

Caitlin is a Vetting Officer where they play a key role in assessing and progressing claims to ensure clients receive the support and representation they need. She holds a First Class Law degree and is currently undertaking a Masters in Legal Practice while preparing for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), demonstrating a strong commitment to professional development and excellence in legal practice.

Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading, interests that reflect their curiosity, resilience, and appreciation for both creativity and the outdoors.

Khadijah is an aspiring solicitor and a pivotal member of the First Response Team. Khadijah is currently studying to achieve her undergraduate degree in Law is aiming to complete the SQE’s in order to qualify as a solicitor.

Khadijah has a wealth of client care experience and is committed to providing the best to all clients at Liberay.

Khadijah is dedicated and hardworking and loves being a part of Liberay’s First Response Team.

Holly is a recent Law graduate from Lancaster University and an aspiring solicitor.

Holly is a new addition to the First Response Team bringing with her a strong commitment to helping others and providing excellent customer service to clients.

She is determined to develop her skills and contribute to the team.

In her spare time, Holly enjoys travelling, spending time with loved ones, and watching crime documentaries.

My name is Shamilah. I am a recent Law graduate and now aspiring to qualify as a solicitor. I studied at the University of Law, Manchester. I have had previous experience in tutoring, customer service roles and administrative positions.

I find Law to be a rewarding career path, and my goals are to help and support clients and be a friendly face they can turn to.

In my free time I enjoy reading fictional crime books, watching documentaries, and consistently learning new things.

I look forward to growing with Liberay Legal by contributing my skillset and applying everything I have learnt into practice.
